Ok so there's some choice when it comes to web development but with PHP open source, how many people actually bother with the other two?
At university I naively opted to learn predominately Coldfusion only to find that its pretty uncommon it the web design market.
I might get a bit of stick for this but ASP is for the geeks, or propeller-heads out there. It's clunky and difficult in comparison to the other two making the main reason to learn it being to show off the fact that you know ASP.
So the question is; if developing for yourself, which would you opt for from a purely programming point of view.
I'd say its a tie between Coldfusion (ease of use) and PHP (range of functionality). |
