Adidas of Santa Monica
---We understand ken---
Anyway, I have nicknamed him sporty spice because he plays like 20 sports (hee hee) but also because he started our date by a quick stop in at Adidas. Apparently, he heard his uncle say he wanted some Adidas and he just thought hed buy them for him withOUT an occasion! How generous! Apparently, you can custom order Adidas shoes. Who knew? After picking out some shoes for his uncle, and playfully roaming around the store with me, we saw all the World Cup attire and equipment. Our eyes landed on these great backpacks that hold a soccer ball. He is part German and partial to the German team. The sales lady looked up their storage to find one for him and they were on sale. Yippeee! I love a bargain, even if its not mine.
and Im an Adidas addict.
This time we encountered a highly-strung, rapid-spoken young man (M) in the shoe department. Please. Remove him from working with customers. We were told that not only did that particular location not stock what we wanted, but they also did not carry a comperable shoe. Wrong. He points out the higher-end shoes for tennis and suggests those. Strike one. The salesguy further suggests we go on the Internet to purchase the shoes we do want. Strike two. Youre a sales guy. How about a little creative mojo to explain what might work for us that you actually have in stock? We might have opted to make a purchase right then and there. Unfortunately adidas wings shoes, he went too r in his humor and manAdidas of Santa Monicaaged to insult my fiance, which was the last straw for both of us. Strike Three!
---Were here for you---
(Im behind on my reviews and trying to catch up!)
Had great customer service from a young woman. Forgot her name. She had cornrows and is studying design. She knows her shoes and has a passion for smart design. She consoled me in my lamentation that every womans shoe seems to be either neon yellow or pink.
Sorry, Adidas. We went to Sport Chalet and found kick-ass shoes, along with a super helpful salesman (ask for John).
They have an Up to 50% sale. My friend went in, got some sweat pants that had a sign that said 50% off, but when we came to the register it wasnt marked with the 50% off. The girl at the register had to go to the back to take a look at the price. She saw that it was actually 50% off and came back to knock the price down. She said yeah its not suppose to be 50% off but ill give it to you this time. We said cool, thanks.
Now this is a true adidas superstore. If you are looking for anything, everything about adidas sports equpment and clothes this is it. There are just two many shoes available, so Id still check online for that right shoe ...
I dig Adidas...mostly their footwear. They have been one of my sneakers of choice since sometime in the mid-80s. I have owned maybe 1 pair Nikes in my life. Its to great to have this store close by for all their other gear as well.
Reviewers disclosure: I only buy adidas clothing!!!!!!! Never Nike, never aasics! So really this review cant get any more biased
I know, but I feel weak. Especially when Im standing on the 3rd St. Promenade and the Adidas store has a 50% off sale. Im just not strong enough...
Anyway. This was our second trip into this place to buy a specific pair of tennis shoes for Sweetheart. He prefers the Nastase style of shoe but will wear complementary styles if available. The first time we encountered this store we phoned ahead and asked them to set the style + size aside so we could pick them up. They did it, but some idiot in the store sold the shoes (which we assumed to be clearly marked as a Hold Item but apparently were not) before we arrived.
I know you do.
Heres the short version: The staff are rude and would rather you didnt waste their time.
I wrote out this whole long story about trying to buy shoes here... I deleted it as it was getting way too long and really who else but me would care about the details.
I LUV Adidas. Great selection and service.
In case you are thinking I wasted a bunch of someones time in here, I only managed to try on one of a pair of shoes.
Wont return to your shops, ever. Id go further and not purchase online from you, either, but thats me. It may be the shoes we bought from another shoe company seals the deal on that, too.
If you enjoy Adidas then this store is a must visit. They have everything top to bottom with a no pressure sales staff that is eager to help you because a lot of them work there for the discount on Adidas gear any way.
I LOVE Adidas. They are my brand of choice when it comes to sportswear. And this store is an Adidas ns dream come true.
I always stop by here whenever Im at 3rd Street Promenade which for the past 3 months have been every week. Last month, I bought some soccer gear. The month before that, some golf shirts. Theres never a line at the check out, and I love the quality. The employees always say hello and theyre eager to help. I love that sort of customer service. Too bad I prefer Nike soccer shoes.
---hi ken---
got a flock jacket and clima cool jacket. friendly service and assisted well its just that they ran out of the sizes but managed to find another style and works for me.
I shop like a woman so I dont bat an eye when I demand customer service. The employees were very helpful and patient with my demands to get shoes my size. Since I dont remember my own shoe size, I underestimated it by 4 sizes so the clerks had to go back 4 times to find the right size. Not once did I feel I imposed because they welcomed my divoness with understanding.
The main reason for my love afir with this particular location: they break up the sections by sport. No more getting lost in running apparel when Im trying to find tennis skirts. They have outfits, but you can also mix and match most pieces together.
For a store this size, the service was excellent! All of the associates were knowledgeable and very helpful.
A few weeks ago, my date decided a trip to 3rd street promenade would be a good destination. Its a bit cliche, but actually turned out to be a really wonderful night. Pfft! What do I know? Haha!
Can be a tad expensive, but when it comes to my shoes, they have to go the mile. A definite stop during sales.
If you are looking for a running shoe and dont know where to start, definitely hit up Adidas. This Adidas store has this cool thing called the Footscan System that scans your foot and tells you what kind of running shoe to get. Do you overpronate or underpronate? What part of your foot strikes the hardest when you run? It will tell you all that neat and useful stuff.
---yes you are---
Ill be blunt. I dont understand how they can get away with calling their clothing lines (for women) anything other than Flamenco Dancer turned Hookerwear. Satiny shorty-shorts with rhumba ruffles on the front panel? Come on! Neon colors everywhere. Perhaps thats why the store is kept so dark?
...no, Im not.
First, they really need to turn down the bass-thumping music. We entered the store and the greeter had to practically shout at us. Hello, Welcome, Would We Like A Shopping Bag?- No, thanks.
Even though tennis is my sport of choice, with the way I play, I actually prefer their running shoes to the tennis shoes. (Im weird, I know) The sales staff is knowledgeable and helpful without being overbearing. And the best part: I received no odd glares from either staff or customers when I was trying on a pair of shoes and literally playing a mock match in them to make sure they could support my ankles properly as I ux served or came to quick stops.
---It happens ken---
Stopped into this store on the promenade since Im in the market for new running shoes. In ct adidas jeremy scott, I just recycled my old Adidas tennies last weekend. So even though I never spend full price on tennishoes, I went in thinking the right style, an OK price and a good salesperson might persuade me.
I know, but I cant resist the uniquely colored shell tops and old school shirts they just don t have in NYC. Please help me be strong... and Ill take the black shell tops with the cool freakin turquoise trim in size 12 please... heres my AMEX card.
The only thing about buying your gear at the Adidas store is youll have to pay full retail, which is something I dont like doing. Parking is easy in the nearby Santa Monica parking lots.
We brought our 18 month old there as his current shoes werent holding up to the rugged use he can inflict on them. They had about half a dozen types of shoes for toddlers (who needs more than that for a little fella?). The sales dude brought out the two pairs of shoes we asked for in the two sizes we asked for pronto. The check out clerks worked speedily, and we were in and out in 15 minutes or so.
So I broke down and had to buy my first major purchase that is Made in China. Boycotts are hard, especially with shoes.
I dont know how it happened, heck I used to wear Nike all the time.
yes they have great shoes, great track suits, stella mccartney for the girls. but...
Wheelchair access: Excellent
My uterus prefers dark, muted tones, Adidas. Please listen.
And now, baby has a sporty new pair of shoes to wear to his first day at his new daycare! Aint life grand?
I love Adidas! If youre like me, then you should definitely hit the Adidas Store in Santa Monica. Its a super huge store with all the Adidas sports gear that you could ever want. I play tennis and only use Adidas now. I find their products to be of the best quality, comfortable and allow me to dominate on the court! haha.
This is the retarded brother of the retarded brother of the one in SF. Even smaller, and nothing spectacular.
this is the worse service ever in LA and im from the UK so i know bad service. i asked for a size for my daughter and the guy Mt went back to check, five minutes later he came out and asked again what size then disappeared, finally someone with a conscience got the size i needed and when i get to the till Mt asks if someone helped me? WTF i dont think i shall be going there again - its undefeated for me for now on.
Xie Xie!
Wheres the closest Nike store?

Adidas of Santa Monica,Wrong. Yes adidas wings 2.0, this hip store has lots of great gear and apparel and a full wall of shoes for all types of athletes, but it lacks in customer service. I didnt have one employee acknowledge me when I went in. And in the 15-20 mins I was perusing, not one person asked me how I was doing or if I wanted to try any of the shoes on that I was looking at.
I like picking up random advertisements at the counters sometimes to read them, so I came across this 10% off coupon and asked the cashier if we could use it too.. She said youre killing meAdidas of here but was nice enough to let us use that too! Just for that awesomeness this store deserves all 5 stars for customer service. I will definitely come back to shop here.
I picked Adidas over Nike and other athletic shoe store because of my previous browsing experience in this 3rd St. Promenade location. Due to hipster shion, shoe stores like Puma have been changed into vintage and douche accessory stores. There are too many sweatshop stories about Nike that even if it sold items Made in Italy, it probably meant from the sweatshops of Little Italy of New Yorks Chinatown. This Adidas location remained true to its heritage by being an athletes store. Adidass store is stylish, the anti-Big 5.
The sales people were sweet and very helpful. The store was clean and had tons of gear. A great first stop!
The checkout guy almost killed my buzz by suggesting somehow that my shoes are outdated. He was talking in athletic-shoe jargon, and I really dont want to hear that my shoe isnt the bestest latest around.
If you are a masochist, shop at this Adidas location.
My name is ken.
I was recommended the Microbounce Etana, which I bought on Endless. Hey, anything for a discount! My feet love them even though Ive never tried them on. Ive been running in Adidas shoes for a couple of years now, but these in particular are great. So comfy and yes, bouncy, and the way the laces are designed make them so easy to take on and off. (Wow, I sound like an ad.) |
