Search bar that isn't google custom or a way to make bg tran

Hi, I need to install a search bar in the navigation of a site that I am developing. Google Custom isn't working out for me because it seems to be impossible to make the background of it transparent and it's just the ugliest damn thing I've ever seen and impossible to work into the aesthetics of the site i'm working on if I want to put it in the primary navigation (shocking no one, look at google's website; yawn). Anyways, I need the search bar to search my site only and I need it to be a basic input field and a custom button. Any help is greatly appreciated
