How important is Page Ranking

Hi everyone. I am currently in the process of working out why traffic to my site has dropped dramatically over the past 6 weeks or so. In some cases this has been as much as an 80% reduction.

First question is how important is Page ranking and how does that affect a website ranking in a web search.

One site currently has a page ranking of 3.Other sites with a ranking of only 2 rank higher in search results.

So just how important is page ranking

Page rank is so important. Aren’t factors leading to a good page rank still of relevance to the kind of traffic a website gets? Me feels the merit of PR is now more linked to the traffic a website gets than anything else.

Page Rank (PR) does not affect traffic.

PR is simply a bi-product of backlinking. The more quality backlinks the higher the PR.

However, traffic can be generated by referrals from those backlinks and also because the backlinks may improve SERPs for keyphrases that appear in the anchor text. So a higher PR site is likely to see larger traffic volumes.

if your traffic is down you perhaps need to do some more on and off page optimization, with some new quality backlinks to help improve your serps etc.....

For me, I never care about PR much because it’s just an estimation of Google. I realize higher PR, we can sell links and etc, but I care more about unique and recurring traffic which will eventually bring success to you in the long run.

Page rank is important and how you can get high rank is, you should not give out links from your site while you should take high ranks site's back links more and more, page range is like your site credibility...

Google page rank is the ranking provided by google according to its algorithms...If a site is having good page rank then it means the site is good and reliable...good Pr also helps in getting good Key word ranking.

I don’t think it impacts your traffic. PR depends on the number of backlinks that you have. So try to acquire as many backlinks as you can.

A high pagerank is earned by having a considerable quantity of relevant web pages linking to that particular website. When a website links to another website, Google pagerank considers that to be a vote for the website in question and therefore indicating that it is of some importance. Google page rank is just a recognition measurement device.

Page Rank is important and its used to show the importance of a web page. But it hasn't do anything with traffic. The more quality backlinks one gets the page rank will be higher.

yes, page rank is Showing importance of webpage. You can want to page rank then you make good quality backlink.
