I have a burned DVD recorded at CBR 8Mb/s with Linear PCM audio. I drop it in VT-Edit and it recognizes it fine, it conforms the audio, and when I go to play it I find the audio to be leading the video by about 21 frames to start with. The audio and video are synced when played in WMP. The A/V sync then seems to vary in VT-EDIT playback. I also notice the audio waveform definately doesn't match the sound I'm hearing.

MPG is the most common video format in the digital video world. It is also called MPEG, i.e, Moving Picture Experts Group. It is supported by most softwares and devices now. Most videos distributed on the Internet are at the .mpg or .mpeg format.

If it's the video directly from the camcorder, you need to import it into a compatible video editor first and save out a file that's supported by Squeeze or Cleaner. Unless you need to do a batch process, you'll likely get as good or better results using the export settings from something like Sony Vegas, Pinnacle Studio, etc.
